Habit 9: Exploring the persistent relevance of world history to contemporary developments.
Everything is the way it is today, because of the past. The reason we speak English in America, is because we were once part of the Briain Empire. The reason most of Latin America speaks Spanish is because the Spanairds had conquered that land. Also, the reason why the United States got a democracy first, is because they got the they got the idea from Britain, snce they had parliament which limits the power of the ruler. The reason why Latin American countries strugle more with dictatorship is because Spain had an absolutist monarchy, which of course means a bigger chance of corruption. Another chain of events that shaped the wold was World War I, because it helped to nthe rise of Hilter. So on it caused World War II, which later lead to the Cold War.

The piece of evidence I will use for this Habit of mind is one page from the witer packet. I am going to use that becuse one of the questions is why is there a big African population in Brazil, well it has to do with the past.
